Sangre de Luna
Work/Vertical Series/Sangre de Luna
Desire threatens an inherited divide when a vampire and a young werewolf must investigate murders across their fractured city. Their forced collaboration brings an attraction into conflict with the laws of both rival communities.
Behind the story
Why I made it
Inherited hatred places an intimate burden on a romance between a vampire and a werewolf. After Punto Ciego, I wanted to carry the production process into dark urban supernatural romance, exploring loyalty within communities shaped by a long conflict. I wrote for viewers drawn to both romances between men and supernatural stories, where desire confronts an inherited allegiance.
The world
Longstanding distrust takes architectural form in Meridian, a present-day city where human life shares space with supernatural communities. I place the Court of Ash's glass towers and cool vampire interiors beside Red Hollow's werewolf kitchens, workshops and amber streetlight. Restrained violence keeps attention on the division between ceremonial authority and a working neighborhood.
The characters
Every character enters the story with a life already underway, expressed in their identity and visual design.
