Behind the story

Why I made it

I approach grief as something held within familiar rooms, following Della back to a place she has avoided for decades. A house, a prepared dinner table and abandoned belongings carry that weight, while dry daylight gives way to a warm interior lamp. At the doorway, the wind recedes into the enclosed sound of a room.

The world

I build the unease of folk horror through the exposed familiarity of a drained reservoir: silt covered streets under a white midday sun, mineral grey and bone white interrupted by an engineer's orange safety vest. Inside the family house, lamplight reveals watermarked wallpaper, while dry wind and mud beneath boots give absence a physical texture.

The characters

Every character enters the story with a life already underway, expressed in their identity and visual design.
